Dr. Yukie Nagai is an associate professor of Tokyo Metropolitan
University. She has engaged in shape modeling and computational
geometry mainly aiming at applying to industrial manufacturing. She
received her Ph.D. in Engineering from The University of Tokyo, Japan,
in 2010. Her research interest includes accurate shape reconstruction
and extraction from 3D scanned data of objects obtained by optical
scanning and x-ray CT scanning. She is a member of the Japan Society
for Precision Engineering (JSPE) and the Japan Society of Mechanical
Engineers (JSME).

Keisuke Nagato received his Ph. D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2009 and is an associate professor since 2016, also holds a post of Research into Artifacts, Center for Engineering since 2019. In 2012-2013, He was a visiting researcher in IWE, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. His current research field is micro/nano surface manufacturing including nanoimprinting, powder molding, and selective laser melting. He is also interested in the applications such as optical devices, mechanical part surfaces, bonding interfaces, and fuel cells. Recently, he started some national projects in powder process informatics for high-throughput process-parameter optimization. He is a member of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering (JSPE) and the Japan Society for Mechanical Engineers (JSME).

Title: Field Emission Characteristics of Carbon-Based Structures Fabricated by CVD
Dr. Hung-Yin Tsai is currently a distinguished professor of Department of Power Mechanical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. He obtained his Ph. D. from National Tsing Hua University in 1999 and then joined Industrial Technology Research Institute. He joined National Tsing Hua University since 2008. He has received the National Innovation and Creation Award by Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2008 and the honor of Ten Outstanding Inventors Award of Taiwan at national level in 2009. He has been the department chairman from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, he became the discipline convener of solid mechanics in Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. His current research interests include artificial intelligent for engineering applications, advanced fabrication and analysis of nano/micro-structure, carbon-based film deposition and its field emission applications, image processing technologies for either the industrial applications or neuroscience studies, and metal additive manufacturing. He has published 70+ refereed journal papers and has been granted 50+ patents.

Prof. Takeshi Yasui received the first Ph.D. degree in engineering from the Tokushima, University, Japan, in 1997, and the second Ph.D. degree in medical science from the Nara Medical University, Japan, in 2013.
From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the National Research Laboratory of Metrology, Japan. He was with the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University from 1999 to 2010, and is currently a Director in the Institute of Post-LED Photonics, Tokushima University, Japan, His research interests include THz instrumentation and metrology, second-harmonic-generation microscopy, and optical frequency comb.Prof. Yasui is a member of the Optical Society (OSA), The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), the Japan Society of Applied Physics, the Optical Society of Japan, and so on.
Daniel Zontar

Title: Current Approaches for Autonomous Production
On completion of his school leaving certificate, Daniel Zontar initially trained as an industrial business assistant before embarking on his studies at the RWTH Aachen University which he completed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He continued to study and earned an MSc, having furthered his knowledge in the subject Automation Engineering.
Daniel Zontar has been an employee of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT since 2009. In the period from 2014 to 2017 he was responsible for Active alignment for the assembly of optical systems at the Fraunhofer IPT and took up the position as Manager of the Machine Development and Machine Networking Group in 2018. In his capacity as the Coordinator of International Research and Industry Projects, he has developed a range of technologies used to control assembly cells as well as solutions for special-purpose and classical machine tools. Daniel Zontar has managed the Precision Engineering and Automation Department at the Fraunhofer IPT since June 2018.

Brief biography of speaker:
Hong Yee Low received her PhD from the Macromolecular Science and Engineering department of Case Western Reserve University in 1998. After spending 2 years at Motorola Semiconductor Sector, she spent 13 years at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Agency for Science Technology and Research, Singapore. IMRE she spearheaded nanoimprinting research, held the position as group head of Patterning and Fabrication Capability Group and Director of Research and Innovation. She is currently an associate professor in the Engineering Product Development Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design and the director for the Digital Manufacturing and Design (DmanD) center. Her primary research interest is in nanofabrication of functional surfaces.

Title: A Framework for Deployment of Collaborative Robotics in Human Centric Industrial Environments
Dr. William Melek is a University Research Chair and the Director the RoboHub at the University of Waterloo. He is and an expert on robotics, artificial intelligence, sensing, and state estimation. He earned his doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto in 2002, andthen led the Artificial Intelligence Division of Alpha Laboratories Inc. He founded University of Waterloo Laboratory of Computational Intelligence and Automation in 2004 and was awarded the Young Engineer Medal of Professional Engineers Ontario in 2006. Heis the past President of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS), and a senior member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Dr. Melek developed Canadas first industry-ready modular reconfigurable robot(MMR); the state-of-the-art open architecture system is now used in the automotive sector. He has also led the way in designing practical, intelligent and adaptive control architectures for MMRs based on neural networks. Conceptual prototypes have been developedfor the nuclear industry in the United States. He holds twelve Canadian and U.S. patents, and his contributions to the manufacturing industry have been featured in the National Post, Globe and Mail and CBC television.
